A Note from Marty and Jenny Jacobus (Ja-co-bus)

Just a short note to introduce myself and let you know how excited Jenny and I are to be on the Southern California FCA Team.  My background with FCA spans 10 years.  I was on the local FCA Board in West Tennessee, then became President of that board and was also on the Tennessee/Kentucky regional boards prior to joining the FCA Golf Ministry staff in July of 2003.  I was in various sales and management positions with a large printing firm for 23 years and coached and taught in high school for 7 years prior to that (for those of you doing the math that makes me 54).

For the past three years I have been a field representative for FCA Golf.  My ministry duties have been quite varied and have included teaching bible studies on several professional golf tours (Nationwide , NGA and LDA).  Most of my time was spent with the guys on the NGA or Hootser's Tour.  I usually get quite a laugh when I tell people I was the Hooter's Tour Champlain.  Another main responsibility has been to act as the tournament director for the FCA National Scrample Championship, held each November at TPC Sawgrass in Pointe Vedra Beach, Florida.  We have almost 400 players from 30+ states playing 54 holes over a three day period on three different courses.  On Friday night we have a banquet with a nationally known speaker who entertains them and presents the gospel to a lot of folks that do not hear truth on a regurlar basis.  It is a very powerful ministry event and I have been blessed to run the past three National Championships.

Jenny and I have been married for 33 years, have 4 grown sons and 4 granchildren. I am truly blessed with a godly wife and wonderful family.

Donnie Dee, Southern California FCA Director, and I met at the SoCal FCA Camp held at UC Santa Barbara, in 2005.  I was not even scheduled to be at the camp, but God had a plan.  It was a great week and I was impacted greatly by what I saw happen at the camp.  Donnie sent me an email in May of 2006 that said, "Is God doing anything in your life that would cause you to want to look at an opportunity in Southern California?"  I told him NO!  My wife being quite a bit smarter than I said we should: 1) Pray about it, 2) Read the Word, 3) Meditate on the Word, 4) Listen to what God was saying to us and 5) Obey..., so we made the decision to serve the Lord full-time as the Riverside County Director.

May our wonderful God bless you for your Kingdom Work. Please feel free to contact me for any additional information about FCA and all God's doing here throughout Riverside County and the Coachella Valley.

Peace,

Marty
